Washoe County Sheriff’s Office becomes first county law enforcement agency in Nevada to implement eSOPH.

Reno, NV.   On Monday, May 20, 2019, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office began implementation of eSOPH, Miller Mendel’s pre-employment background investigation software system. eSOPH is specifically designed for the law-enforcement pre-employment background investigation process. Public safety agencies using the system estimate a time reduction of 30% to 60% per investigation, and a significant reduction in the use of costly resources such as paper, ink, postage and filing space. The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office intends to process at least 300 pre-employment background investigations over a twelve month period using eSOPH.

On behalf of the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, the eSOPH transition project was led by personnel from the background investigations unit, with support from Sheriff Balaam, Undersheriff Yarbrough, Chief Deputy O’Connor and Captain Pedersen.

Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is the first county law enforcement agency within Nevada state to implement eSOPH. WCSO joins the Nevada Department of Public Safety in their use of the eSOPH system.
